- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Have been waiting for the past hour for a officer to show up to my neighbors house for a noise disturbance in waldport, but the thing is that its a friday night and there is no one able to come out because their shift change is between the hrs of 330am and 6am so little hint if you choose to break the law that would be the time to get away with anything cause Newport Police dont give a damn between those hrs!By mike brown, February 02, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I was the victim of identity theft in Newport. I reported it to the police department and they had a photo of the thief within the hour. I was treated very professionally during the whole investigation and was informed when the culprit admitted the theft. All of the Newport P. D. personnel I encountered were very respectful and courteous to me. Officer Purdom took my report and called me when the case was resolved. I am very impressed with Chief Miranda's staff. Without superior law enforcement, even the most beautiful town can be a nightmare for visitors and inhabitants. I hope to move to Newport this year, I have total confidence that the streets will be safe at night and there is a real and professional law enforcement service to protect my Family and myself.
